  11. I am a graduate student in the MBA program at California Polytechnical
  12. University in Pomona.  For my Master's thesis, I am studying the viable of
  13. the COBOL programming language.  Many articles have being written
  14. condemning the continued use of COBOL and yet a large number of the
  15. industry professionals still seem to champion the language.   This study
  16. is an attempt to determine if COBOL is still meeting the needs of the
  17. industry, and, if so, how is it now being used.

  19. Your participation in this newgroup indicates that you have an interest in
  20. the future of the computer industry.  If you are interested in this
  21. subject, I would greatly appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to
  22. answer the attached survey.  This survey contains 20 questions and I am
  23. also grateful for any additional comments you may want to add on this
  24. subject.
